RESNET - the governing body for all HERS ratings and HERS raters that sets and enforces standards. All ratings for dwelling units are certified by RESNET and Raters are randomly audited for any project registered.

ERV - “energy recovery ventilator”. These are certified by HVI.org. ERVs are required by code and designed, selected, and installed by a qualified HVAC subcontractor. Raters by code are the testing agents only. ERVs by code must meet the specifics in the HERS reports and all other code requirements.
